Just installed 11.0 on an older 10.2 system...that was working fine (ok, maybe that was error one). Seemed to go ok until initial boot. After appearance of the KDE tips window the system freezes, no mouse movement and no keyboard. Cannot even use keyboard to open a console and look for a log or try something else. Is there an option (I assume there is) to avoid the automatic login so maybe I can see what might be found from a console and command line? What else might I try to complete the installation?

Hi
If I remember correctly (otherwise, list please correct this), in the boot options on your green startup screen, enter:
init=3
- that should bring you to a console instead of X.

Thanks. Can probably work out from there. So long since I have done that... Richard -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
