Guys,
I am trying to write a script and I am lost with cdrecord. What I am trying to do is grad the dir I need to backup incase my box crashes, then burn that to DVD so I can take it off site. My problem is that I don't know how to translate my recorder /dev/hda to something cdrecord will understand.
First of all, which version? /dev/sr0 is now used, as of 10.2 or 10.3. /dev/hda is your first hard drive. Do a "ll /dev/cdrom (or /dev/dvd)" to get the real device. lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2008-07-14 03:27 /dev/cdrom -> sr0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2008-07-14 03:27 /dev/cdrom1 -> sr1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2008-07-14 03:27 /dev/cdrw -> sr0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2008-07-14 03:27 /dev/cdrw1 -> sr1 or lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2008-07-14 03:27 /dev/dvd -> sr0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2008-07-14 03:27 /dev/dvd1 -> sr1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2008-07-14 03:27 /dev/dvdrw -> sr0 Ed -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
