As Dave said, you have a different use case than other users. It works for you. It doesn't work for everyone.
Linux, if it's about anything, it's about CHOICE! I don't appreciate being put into a box like with MickySoft. Neither do nor will newbies. But, software MUST work out-of-the-box with easy installs, or Linux WON'T ever gain much more traction on the desktop. That is not only a shame, but is just pure WRONG. A failure that will be propagated by a bunch of boneheaded elitists who can't see beyond the end of their noses.
