While ago I always used the locate command to find instances I want to look for on my system. Now it doesn't work anylonger.
You mean it stopped working, or you installed a new system and it's not there now?
What's the reason ?
Which thousand would you prefer?
I have used the find command since I recognized the lack.
rather heavy handed substitute.
Is it ok or am I missing anything ?
it is "ok", and you may or may not be missing anything. Do you have aroundtuit? If not you *are* missing something. ps: suspecting you have a new install, did you install findutils-locate as it is not installed w/o direction? ps2: You ask a lot w/o giving many details. I hear a grinding sound when I apply the brakes on my vehicle.
