It's a server in our student flat . I have no physical access to it. 
It's running linux.

I asked around and found the ip address. mount -t cifs 
//172.20.01.100/film /mnt/gerver/film/ now works. Strange that in 10.3 I 
could use it's name instead of it's IP.
