disc will play in Linux. I just need to work out the difference between the one that works and all the ones that don't..
I have just run kaffeine from the command line and got some error messages. What is the preferred way to post these?
Try "xine --verbose" from an xterm, and just post the output, or the part of the output where the error shows.
(Please note that I have no problem playing movie DVD's that I have purchased. Just problems with the ones that I have recorded using this device. I have finalised the discs and they do play in windows. I guess however that I must be doing something wrong since one of the discs actually does play)
It maybe simply that the burner is not liked by the reader. Try mounting those dvds and reading them (dd if=/dev/dvd of=testfile.iso). Maybe changing the dvd media to another brand could help. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
