Hello, [an e-mail from another rsync enthusiast] Rsync is great. Making backups was a pain before I discovered it. Just in case you find it useful, you can find a home-made python script for rsyncing two directories, here: http://www.fyslab.hut.fi/~sri/syncsdirs_example.py The reason I wrote this script are the confusing include/exclude switches in rsync. This scripts takes care of them automatically. It is a pitty there is no kdeioslave for rsync.. It would be great to do rsync by drag'n drop in KDE. The rest of rsync will fall into place as you learn it -- without any surprises.
I normally use:
- --archive --acls --xattrs --hard-links --del --stats --human-readable
