Hello! I'd like to suggest that packages are marked for update if and only if the whole bunch of requirements/dependencies are also available from the same server. Why? please read on... After installing openSuSE 11 recently I also added the Community Repositories using YaST, leaving aside those with no relevance for my system (i.e.: ATI stuff, as I have nVidia...) Just out of curiosity I decided to check with yast2 if there were new packages to be updated for openSuSE 11 already, as it's quite new... So, there we go... yast2 sw_single -> Package -> All Packages -> Update if newer version available ... and 119 packages were marked for update. After the dependency check done by YaST, I get a lot of missing requirements and a lot of conflict resolutions which could lead either to a more tainted system or even more conflicts... huh. This causes a lot of annoyances and I don't know if somebody else here faces/faced the same problems as I describe... The same happens with smart... so I guess it's a repository-wide problem... or?
