Fred,
that's what I did. Every time I upgrade, I do a fresh install,
formatting all the partitions except the home. Simply my wireless does
not work with the new drivers provided by 11.0. I need to use the old
ones. With the new ones the wireless is disabled and I cannot enable
it.

I have an acer 5920g with wireless card PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. It uses
the module ipw3945. After upgradind to openSuSE 11.0, it stopped
working. I ported to openSuSE 11.0 the drivers from openSuSE 10.3 and
the card stared working again. I made some rpms, that are available
from my website

They are my system specific so I don't know if they can help you.
Francesco, EVERY laptop upgrade I've done has later failed with Intel wifi
chipsets! 11.0 simply doesn't install cleanly when doing an upgrade. I've
had to do a clean install, formating all partitions except /home. Once done,
wifi works. I have had some upgrades that did go well, but NOT laptops. I'm
doing ONLY clean installs now (have at least 2 more weeks of it).....it's
what's always been the best solution..........still is.

Linux is an old Latin word meaning, "I don't have
to support your Windows anymore."
