In all fairness, I must say that I've not yet tried 11.0 and/or KDE4.
But if many of you experts are having reservations,
The "experts" you're talking about haven't tried it themselves.
Wait until you see the detailed bug reports. These people have been on the
lists for a very long time, and if they had something real to point to, they
would say so. They have done in the past, and the fact that all they're doing
now is hand waving can only mean they haven't actually looked at it yet
