Apologies for asking this question.

Not too long ago someone had a problem of Firefox not being executed when s/he clicked on an URL mentioned in a msg in Thunderbird. The answer on how to resolve this problem was provided. After checking all places I could think of, I cannot find what the solution to this hassle is.

I'd tried that, before, in 10.3, and never got it to work. Sorta gave up. But, tried this, in a just-updated 11.0 -
Personal Settings -> KDE components -> Component Chooser,
and changed the Web Browser selection to 'firefox' (mine said mozillafirefox)

Bingo!!

OK, found it! The Personal Settings had me fooled. You meant Configure Desktop where KDE Components are found :-) .

I'll be re-installing 11.0 on another set of HDs later so will try out what you state above. Thanks for this.

Ciao.
