Huh! Well, there's a thing. The modprobe ipw3945 worked a treat. All I have to do now, is try to make sure it stays there on reboot, but frankly, if I have to type that every time I start up, at least I'll be able to use it on my upcoming trip (starting tomorrow).
I'll play with getting it permanent for a while, and ask again if I fail.
Many thanks for your help, it's _much_ appreciated :)
There is few ways that doesn't require HAL repair. One is file /etc/sysconfig/kernel that has shell variable MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT="" that is usually empty like above, change it to MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT="ipw3945" Another is script /etc/init.d/boot.local put in the script command modprobe ipw3945 And, as mentioned, when module is loaded than run YaST Network or command: yast lan If you succeed drop a message. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
