The kernel in RC1 appears to be OK, Fred. Nothing got 'killed'

nVidia
site) compiled and works OK.

I can't even get an update. When I view the patched in YOU, it shows
the kernel at the Beta3 kernel. No packages available. Of course, I
don't install a lot of stuff like apparmour or openoffice or beagle,
so that may be it.

Tha's OK, it's too early for any upgrades- RC1 was only releasedat
around 1200hours Berlin time on Thursday (I was checking the URL every
few minutes :-) .)

HOWEVER, even stating this, there were a few, minor, upgrades late last
night for something I have installed; some were picked up by zypper and
other(s) were picked up by smart.

'182 updates.....have to use in Yast "all packages" and "newer" to find
them all. NO kernel was listed as being updated.

Correct. These came thru today but where not there last night.

'Didn't do the install today. Another thing that KDE has NEVER don't
right is turning off the mouse pad on MOST laptops. There's no excuse
for not working correctly as Ubuntu does it correctly in Gnome. I use an
external mouse and have NO use for a mouse pad.
