[opensuse] Cleaning /var/tmp recommended?

I noticed that /var/tmp gets pretty messy, most if it is things that zypper
has left behind, luckally they are not very large it only uses 1,004 B with a
total of 1 file and 218 directories, and I was wondering if it is recommended
to clean this directory or if it contains files zypper needs to stay there
even between checks.
