I have an ACER Aspire 5315 with MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-850S ATA DVD-CD Rom
drive and I'm trying to install openSUSE 10.0 on that.
10.0 is no longer supported.
Go with 10.3 - that is much more advanced.
