Actually, it wasn't KMail, I figured. It seemed to be Firefox 3 ruining it for 
everyone.

I only had a few things open - KMail, Knode, FF3, VMWare (running XP with 
Outlook 2003, a C# in-house application, Visio and Autocad 2005), and 
OpenOffice.

Normally, this isn't an issue, but FF3 eventually terminated and all was well.
