Hi Guys, Gals and all the others.

I am having problems hearing sound. YaST has detected my soundcard and
it seems to be working. However I have to turn up the volume to full to
barely hear the sound. I mean if there is any noise in the background I
cant hear anything.

Now when I log in as a 'normal' user I cannot seem to find the KMixer
icon in the system tray area. When I log in as root it is there(the
little speaker icon). I checked that the device is not muted and turned
the volume up to full. I also turned up the volume on the
hardware(everything is 100% full blast). Should I run the ALSAConf and
see if that sort it out? It is a onboard soundcard and I think it might
be detected incorrectly.

Any ideas?

Regards
Neil
