[opensuse] Prevent auto-suspend if mail being received or sent - kmail, kpowersave & OS 10.3

Hi,
I use kmail on opensuse 10.3 (fully updated). I would like to delay
kpowersave's auto-suspend if kmail is either receiving mail (pop3) or sending
(smtp).
I've tried adding kio-pop3 & kio_smtp to the powersave blacklist, but that
completely prevents automatic suspend.
Can anyone advise how to do this?
