What exactly means "at boot"?

When trying to log in on my computer. Usually I shut down my PC and I
restart it the next morning. After openSuSE installation, I have used
a single account with automatic log in for several weeks, then I have
created other user accounts and after several days I cannot log in.
This happens regardless of the user account used to log in. It works
only for root. I have even tried to delete all other user accounts,
but with no result. I haven't yet investigated, but this issue could
be related to the fact that I have no more space on my root partition.
