How does one figure out which driver a webcam requires, or even if there is one? I seem to be finding nothing but questions and no answers for my 0x572 Rockwell Ezcam II. http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca5xx.html says module spca5xx should work, but 10.2's modprobe can't find it. :-(
If you know it's spca you should try the gspcav1 driver from the buildservice.
I never used build service before. I found there: spca5xx-kmp-bigsmp (i586) spca5xx-kmp-debug (i586) spca5xx-kmp-default (i586) spca5xx-kmp (source)
There's a reason why I proposed the gspcav1 driver to be found here for 10.2: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/drivers:/webcam/openSUSE_10.2_Upda... choose the architecture (x86-64, i586) and your kernel flavour of the gspcav1 driver. It's a newer version for the spca5xx driver and I needed it to get my cam working with Skype.
gspca loaded, but Skype, xawtv, kdetv & camstream all fail to find the Ezcam II that lsusb sees. -- "Let us not love with words or in talk only.
