There's a reason why I proposed the gspcav1 driver to be found here for 
10.2:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/drivers:/webcam/openSUSE_10.2_Update_standard
choose the architecture (x86-64, i586) and your kernel flavour of the 
gspcav1 driver. It's a newer version for the spca5xx driver and I needed 
it to get my cam working with Skype.
