No, I meant the kipi plugins that were on the right-click menu in any app.
For instance, if I was in krusader and wanted to compress a picture, I would
right-click on the picture, go to konqueror menu, actions, and there were all
my choices. I rarely had to use an 'app' to do anything much with my
pictures, and if I did I used the GIMP (which also isn't working...can't even
open a jpeg picture).
Yes, they're installed. I checked more than half a dozen times yesterday,
heh. I'll uninstall them and reinstall them...maybe that'll make a
difference.
I'll keep that in mind and see if digikam is easier to use than the GIMP or
has enough functionality for me, but the menu choices with the kipi plugins
usually did everything I needed without having to open another app.

Is this on purpose or is there something I haven't installed to get

to
do as it did in 9.3? It really was an extremely nice feature on 9.3 and I
already miss it (I took a slew of pics today of the huge snowfall we had
overnight, and really needed kipi).
I assume you're referring to Digikam as 'kipi' - KIPI is the name of the
plugin interface for image processing plugins that Digikam uses. If you're
not, please correct me.
No, I meant the kipi plugins that were on the right-click menu in any app.

Secondly, did you install the "kipi-plugins" package? This is where these
plugins are located on recent openSUSE.
Yes, they're installed. I checked more than half a dozen times yesterday,
heh. I'll uninstall them and reinstall them...maybe that'll make a

Thirdly, (and I don't have a 9.3 handy to compare) some of the editing
functionality has been moved in Digikam from the main window to the Image
Editor. If you right click an image and select "Edit..." you get access to
all the toys in the Colour, Transform, Decorate, Enhance and Filters menus.
The new Light Table is pretty nifty too for comparing 2 versions of an
image and all their metadata.
I'll keep that in mind and see if digikam is easier to use than the GIMP or

usually did everything I needed without having to open another app.
