I asked AMD about the heatsink, fan etc.:
Q: is the fan+heatsink supplied with the boxed processor considered
sufficient to cool the processor whilst under full load?
A: The HSF that comes bundled with the processor is designed to provide
optimal cooling across the entire range of temperatures that this
processor reaches.

However, I have the BIOS set to issue an alarm and switch the system
off if the temperature gets to 60C. It *had* reached ~55C so I
replaced the AMD provided heatsink and fan.
