[opensuse] Mouse problems

I am running Suse 10.2. At first it worked fine. I just did a security
update and now my mouse works very erratically. My keyboard also stopped
working. I had tried going to 10.3 but I had to back it out because of
the same problems.
I have an Logitech Marble trackball and an HP keyboard. If noone can sugest a fix I will have to go to some other version of Linux. Right now I am reduced to using windows ugg.
