[opensuse] Had to subscribe again today. Strange

The two messages that I posted about a half hour ago had been sent
originally much earlier today. After they were sent the first time, I
received messages from the list server telling me that they could not be
posted because my address was not subscribed.
In fact I have been subscribed for several months, and have posted here.
My address has not changed, and my mailer knows only that one address to
put into my From header; I do not use a separate Reply-to header. That
the messages bore my correct From address is clear from the fact that the
two refusal messages arrived in my inbox.
What I did, of course, was to subscribe again, to the same address. My new
subscription was accepted by the list server without a peep, without a
remark that I was already subscribed.
I have to conclude that the list server has tripped, and this is the
second time this has happened. In all the lists that I have joined during
the past twenty years (and the two that I have operated), I have never
seen this to happen. Is this phenomenon known to the administrators of
the list? Is there an explanation for it?
