I am using the default open source driver,
but the resolution currently in use is smaller
then the one correctly recognised and stated by Yast.
How can i correct this ?
As much as I dislike using it, I was able to fix a very similar problem
(different nvidia card and monitor, same resolution) by switching to the
binary nvidia driver. Have you tried that?
