At any rate, When the option to install the software was given, in my case, it mentioned that it was going to uninstall madwifi so I decided to wait. If you can't wait, it sounds like David's method should work.

I am using the aetheros chipsset, i.e., using the madwifi. Under theI don't speak for SGI in this forum.
latest update, the new kernel, 2.26.18 removes the madwifi rpm from the
system. Does anyone know if they are going to update the madwifi
repository or will I have to compile the source?
