Thanks, Dave.
I have found the solution. The opensuse died again a few times. I
decided to go ahead and instal Vista (Business) on the laptop.
I have openSUSE running in a VM session.
Since the laptop only came with an 80GB hard drive, I went ahead and
ordered myself a new 200GB hard drive.
Vista will stay on the 80 GB hard drive and be encrypted.
I'll swap in the 200GB hard drive in a week or so when it arrives and
put openSUSE on there.
I'll keep y'all informed. :)

I'm going to send a separate email because I still can't get 3d
working on my
video card (Nvidia Quadro FX 1500M) under 10.3 for some reason.
Oh, and the wireless is working fine now. Don't know why it didn't
before.
Hi you might have sorted your video out by now, but if you haven't,
get kernel sources and gcc 4.2 installed and go
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us and get their
linux driver run package. They have instructions as well.
best new year wishes
Dave
