I'm going to have to replace my old (6+ years) Toshiba that has a

I'm looking for recommendations for a mid range ($1k - 1.5k) laptop
that
is compatible with
Opensuse 10.3.

I would say pretty much any laptop will do. Watch for intel wifi, as
they are supposedly - and in my own experience - better than broadcom.

Dell makes linux laptops as does be qubed.

I'm happier than a pig in mud with my Dell Inspiron.
