You hit it right on the head, Bob! Thanks for clarifying things (i was
not going to try as it seems some people just want to type and don't
read the mail right). And kpowersave was just an example, what about the
20 other things (amarok and kaffeine to name 2) that i don't want/need
and are hooked to some dependency?

Carlos, kpowersave has suspend to disk and hibernate options, which are
for laptops (at least my desktop does not suspend or hibernate)
Anyway, i have solved this and moved on to other things (as stated a
couple of emails back).
