your probably thinking of e17. looking pretty sharp these days.

Err What !?!

e16/e17 claim to be a branch from the original Gnome Desktop, except
with some real design flair.... I suppose one could confuse 'design
flair' with 'its got to be MAC' ... oh well :-/ ...

I have been running e17 and Entrance as my default for some months and
to be informed that this is like OSX is a bit of a nasty shock :-)
