Quick question: does deleting an icon on the desktop remove the file, or

Thanx--doug
It depends on what the icon represents, just like in Windows. What
you're thinking of is deleting a shortcut. Here, we call them
launchers. :-) If you delete the shortcut or launcher, that will not
delete the file or application.
However, if you have saved a file to your Desktop, then deleting that
icon will delete the file. Same as on Windows.
In other words, know what it is you're actually deleting. :-)
