I have an HP Pavilion DV9205CA with 1.5Gig of memory and a 100Gig drive. I recently upgraded from OpenSuSE 10.2 to 10.3. I remember when I installed 10.2 I had to disable the reading and writing of the clock otherwise the system froze. Under 10.3, the system freezes on boot up without the noapic parameter. The problem is that I have a USB KVM with three mahcines and when I switch to the Windows system, then back, my SuSE box does not re-discover the keyboard and mouse. I have to reboot to get the linux box to find them. That gets old very quick.
Any suggestions?

There is a problem with certain 64 bit machines in how hwclock works if your running 64bit Linux. I have a dv6125 and I use the hwclock from the 32 bit release. There is an open bug report. It turns out that the hwclock (32) looks at the rtc differently than hwclock(64). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
