One article I read says that the cause is that I need an updated gtx.
See: http://suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=40156 Which points me to: http://primates.ximian.com/~maw/builds/20071008/10.3-i386/ which is not in my repository settings.
However, when I search in YaST Software Management I don't find gtx installed at all nor do I see gtx being offered. I do see something called mpgtx. Not sure if that should be installed.
It's not gtx but gtk2 and if you apply all available updates for 10.3 you should be fine.

Hi Wolfgang,
Thanks for your response. However, I can tell you this.
Firefox dies when I try to do any print preview using SUSE 10.3 and Firefox 2.0.0.11. However, it worked with 2.0.0.10. I could always go back I suppose.
I found an update in YaST Software Management for gtx2 and installed it. I have almost every community repository turned on. In addition I think I have all available updates for 10.3 installed but It is not clear to me how to determine that.
Anyway, Firefox is still crashing on Print Preview. Not sure what to do next.
Cheers, Bob Bob,
I had this exact same problem back in July of 2006. What made it even more interesting is that if I logged in as root Firefox worked flawlessly. What I ended up doing was deleting the /.mozilla folder in he home directory of the user account that was exhibiting the problem and it worked from that point forward. You will loose bookmarks, but if you have backed those up you should be fine.....
HTH, Clark
I appreciate you and Wolfgang helping out here.
Clark: I tried it as root and it still crashes. I then tried deleting .mozilla and starting again and I still have the same crash, sigh!
Wolfgang: rpm -q --qf '%{name}-%{version}-%{release}-%{distribution}\n' gtk2 gtk2-2.12.0-9.2-GNOME:STABLE / openSUSE_10.3
Any ideas on what I should try next?
Cheers, Bob
I just found the following: On http://gtk.org/ I found the following line: Overview of Changes from GTK+ 2.12.1 to 2.12.2 ==============================================
* Bugs fixed: 494776 text file with html causes lockeup 482531 firefox crashed on print preview [ IA__gdk_window_get_top
However, GTK_2.12.3 is now available. I can't find a SUSE compiled RPM of this as yet. Any ideas when/where it might become available. Maybe I should file a b/r asking for it?
