Since some time I am looking for a way to get my DVD CD rom back after it did
not show up under 10.3 with KDE.
Install from the 10.3 DVD went without a problem. I can still start that DVD
and any other bootable medium at boot time but after I am on my KDE desktop
the DVD/CD rom is gone.
Do not know what caused it but assume that the change from hdx to sdx has
something to do with it. I saw at another machine still running 10.2 that
under /dev @cdrom the +/hdc was shown. In my 10.3 I do not see anything
pointing to the CD-rw and DVD player on the second master spot. Where could I
find the former /dev/hdc ?? Where does it hide on a working fully updated
10.3 system?
