/dev/hdb1 usr
/dev/hdb2 var
/dev/sdb2 home
I have other partitions but they can be ignored. As you can see all are
important and none are encrypted.
Thanks again

evaluating root partition

empty box
check show all partitions
select openSUSE 10.2 /dev/hdc3 i386 linux native (ext3) /

click next
So, I assume the root partition is /dev/hdc3.
I must have made a typo - sorry.
Box with the following message:
*The partition /dev/hda4 could not be mounted
mount: you must specify filesystem type
if you are sure that the partition is not needed by the installation
click on continue
However, the message refers to /dev/hda4. What is /dev/hda4?
/dev/hda4 boot
/dev/hda1 swap
/dev/hda2 opt
/dev/hdb1 usr
/dev/hdb2 var
/dev/sdb2 home
I have other partitions but they can be ignored. As you can see all are
