On Thu November 1 2007, mukul scratched these words onto a coconut shell, hoping for an answer:
I think there was one yesterday which said something about hardware detection. I wish I had paid more attention to what I was updating :(

<Snip for bandwidth> I think what you have there ( above) is the core of the matter.. since we aren't Mac users, our various hardware means there is more than one of just about everything.. often even, more than 2 or three things.. I'd also suggest you try turning off apparmour, at least til you know what is happening. That drove me nuts.. locking the screen up hard.. needed the famous 3 finger salute.. two clicks and it locked again.. ( same thing from console ) disabled it for now.. ( have just got my boxed version.. so install and tweaking, then apparmour profiles can get done . So for the sake of everyone's sanity ( yours too ;-) ) do watch what you are updating or installing.. make lists of what's available if you aren't certain about it.. and check here. Normally we don't bite .. you don't *have* to install everything that is available just because it is available , you know.. there isn't any requirement.. -- j Back dancin' on th' bleeding edge, again.
