I tried to print a mail from Kmail, but got;

A print error occurred. Error message received from system:

'/tmp/kde-rikjoh/kdeprint_5YsLBWoi' : execution failed with message:
/bin/bash: cupsdoprint: command not found 

nor the preview works for mails

cupsdopring is located in /opt/kde3/bin/cupsdoprint
and is in my $PATH. 
printing works in the machine for most other doc's.

googling didnt help me much, more that telling me that various ppl have had 
the same problem.
 
any hints as to what is wrong?
