Jan's points have little to do with mine. Move twice as much data to perform a given task with the same bus and memory hardware will take twice as long. My points had nothing whatsoever to do with "perception." They are an accurate and valid analysis of 32-bit vs. 64-bit data (and pointer) architecture disparities.
