loaded for the onboard audio card at each boot. How do I blacklist these modules in openSUSE?
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
This file is deprecated, you should use /etc/modprobe.conf.local instead.
Now I am curious. Is the on-board audio disabled in the bios? If so, would the module still get loaded?

The soundcard is disabled in the bios, but at every boot gets selected as the default soundcard and is thus muted :S
No matter what I try I can't get sound working, I have blacklisted the snd_via82xx driver to no avail :(
Even if a module is blacklisted, it can be loaded manually or by a script, like the alsa startup script. Check if the internal card doesn't show in the yast sound configuration. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
