I have an icon in my panel that tells me that four software updates are waiting for me. Software Updater says that these are three Java 1.5.0 packages and another for RealPlayer v10. Clicking on the <Update> button causes the utility to tell me that it is "preparing software", and it keeps doing that for twenty minutes -- no less, after which is announces that it can't download rhe RealPlayer package from ftp://mirrors.netbg.com/...... If I uncheck the RealPlayer package, another twenty-minute wait gets me the further information that one of the Java packages can't be updated either. I am assuming that the reason for this is that it is not looking in the right place. In "Services" page of the utility's configuration notebook, the only remote source is ftp://mirrors.netbg.com/opensuse/distributions/o (Type: ZYPP and Active). There is a way to add many other services, but I do not know which types to add or from what servers. Unsurprisingly, Software Updater is not equiped with a Help facility.
