I've loaded openSUSE 10.3 on a Dell Dimension 4100. The installation is a bare minimum graphics installation with only an X-server handling files for a SlimServer and SqueezeBox. No Gnome or KDE window mgr. The SqueezeBox has the ability to send a Wake-On-LAN event to a suspended computer. I've enabled Wake On LAN within the 4100 BIOS, but I cannot seem to get the machine to suspend, hibernate or go into standby. I'm pretty sure this thing is using APM as the system info from yast reports apm_enabled is set to Yes. However, running pm-suspend as root has no effect on the machine. Does the pm-utils work for APM? Can anyone provide some insight on what to do to trouble shoot this functionality? I've also tried using s2ram (and all the various switches) without success. Can anyone point me in the right direction? TIA, Jeff Clausius FWIW, here is the info from Yast's Hardware Info: apm_biosflags: 0 apm_enabled: Yes apm_subversion 0 apm_supported: Yes apm_version: 0 And here is the info from my pm-suspend.log file: Mon Oct 15 21:59:20 CDT 2007: running suspend hooks. ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:20 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/00clear ===== ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:20 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/01logging ===== suspend initiated: Mon Oct 15 21:59:20 CDT 2007 Module Size Used by uhci_hcd 26892 0 usbcore 129668 2 uhci_hcd parport_pc 42084 0 parport 40008 1 parport_pc sg 38556 0 st 40860 0 sd_mod 24704 0 sr_mod 20132 0 scsi_mod 137224 4 sg,st,sd_mod,sr_mod af_packet 29832 0 joydev 13632 0 xt_tcpudp 7296 21 xt_pkttype 6016 5 ipt_LOG 10624 15 xt_limit 6912 15 ipt_REJECT 9472 3 xt_state 6272 12 iptable_mangle 7040 0 iptable_nat 11652 0 ip_nat 22060 1 iptable_nat iptable_filter 7168 1 ip6table_mangle 6528 0 ip6table_filter 7040 0 ip_conntrack 53344 3 xt_state,iptable_nat,ip_nat nfnetlink 11032 2 ip_nat,ip_conntrack ip_tables 17860 3 iptable_mangle,iptable_nat,iptable_filter ip6_tables 18756 2 ip6table_mangle,ip6table_filter x_tables 18564 9 xt_tcpudp,xt_pkttype,ipt_LOG,xt_limit,ipt_REJECT ,xt_state,iptable_nat,ip_tables,ip6_tables apparmor 55828 0 aamatch_pcre 18432 1 apparmor loop 20488 0 dm_mod 60184 0 ide_cd 42272 0 cdrom 38432 2 sr_mod,ide_cd 3c59x 46760 0 mii 9600 1 3c59x shpchp 40224 0 i2c_i801 11660 0 pci_hotplug 35264 1 shpchp i2c_core 25216 1 i2c_i801 intel_agp 28188 1 agpgart 35528 1 intel_agp ext3 142088 2 mbcache 12804 1 ext3 jbd 70580 1 ext3 edd 13892 0 processor 34664 0 piix 14084 0 [permanent] ide_disk 20480 5 ide_core 131144 3 ide_cd,piix,ide_disk total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 515996 347920 168076 0 53660 165656 -/+ buffers/cache: 128604 387392 Swap: 1028152 0 1028152 ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:20 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/05led ===== ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:20 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/06autofs ===== ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:20 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/10NetworkManager ===== ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:21 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/23dock ===== ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:21 CDT 2007: running hook: /e==== ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:21 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/45pcmcia ===== ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:21 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/50modules ===== trying to unload: button ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:21 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/80acpi-fan ===== ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:21 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/80videobios ==== = ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:21 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/94cpufreq ===== ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:21 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/95led ===== ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:21 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/99Zgrub ===== ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:21 CDT 2007: running hook: /etc/pm/hooks/99info ===== Mon Oct 15 21:59:21 CDT 2007: finished suspend hooks.
