As root, went to /etc/bootsplash/themes

Made a backup: tar -czvf SuSE.tar SuSE

Went to the images dir

My bootsplash resolution is set at 800x600 (Full laptop display after booting
is 1680x1050), so I copied bootsplash-800x600.jpg to silent-800x600.jpg,
overwriting original.

As root, mkinitrd -s 800x600

Reboot!
