Is it formatted?
Plug it in and check with "dmesg" if it was recognised and where/if it
was mounted.
When you have it mounted, you can right-click on it (assuming you are
using KDE, not sure abou Gnome) and under the "Mounting" tab you can
specify where it should be mounted in the future.
