The meanwhile plugin is enabled in 10.3, but untested and not maintained by 
us.  I suggest you bring up any issues on bugs.kde.org.  There are a couple 
of people in the community who maintain it occasionally.

I tried it a couple of years ago using a demo server provided by IBM and 
reachable on the Internet and IIRC the username was a simple string - I don't 
know whether this is a web interface login or a directory login though.
