'Learn something all time time with Linux. ;) I started to look for a decent GUI FAX application that will send FAXs via a FAX/Modem and am amazed that there's nothing to be had.....unless it's a halafax client, which I haven't loaded yet. Any ideas?
Yep: HylaFAX.
The SUSE descript. indicates that you also have to use the server....yes, no?
Correct. There is another program, but I haven't suceeded with it. Really, hylafax is the best. An overkill perhaps, but the best.
Also, how does one UNlock a file in /dev?!! I've tried everything I can think of to unlock /dev/ttyS0 and it's a "no go."
Another program must be using it. Who is giving that message, kppp? You do not need ppp for faxing. Anyway, I prefer old style console: I always used "wvdial" in a console to connect my modem to internet. - -- Saludos Carlos E.R. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFG+5M0tTMYHG2NR9URAv7+AJ0dCTMeC3fQx7zRlcA6Wfd+5iGbpACgkRk1 lyC/dEy6yHstmll5rFJNeZo= =Gz/+ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
