I'm running openSUSE 10.2 on Linux 2.6.18.8-0.5-default i686 athlon. This morning I booted, kdm started as usual, I logged on to KDE but the desktop was largely not initialized from my settings: none of my wallpapers, icons, taskbar items. Also, there was no sound. I logged out of KDE, logged on to Gnome, the desktop was ok but still no sound. I logged back on to KDE, and now desktop was there but still no sound. I rebooted, and now the desktop and sound are both there and everything seems fine.
