Do I? Maybe. I think that choosing a mirror is in fact choosing a single point of failure. Choosing any single system is a single point of failure.
The point of using mirrors is that you use diferent systems. My update have not broken or failed when you had those problems.
Except, when something takes out both original and mirrors e.g. the recent packman blip...(which had little to do with SuSE). What I did find a little irritating in the latter case I got no option to disable but only the option to delete the offending location. This is the first major problem I have noticed with the primary SuSE repositories for quite some time. IMHO Compared to some other maintenance and download services (e.g. CPAN and Eclipse) it is on a par... Unfortunately, this is one those things one tends to notice when it is not working, and forget about when it does. It also seems to occur more frequently at weekends or public holidays when there is no-one on site and in the case of hardware failure, no suppliers around to replace the broken kit... - -- ============================================================================== I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
