In defense of the work done on the GTK version, they did try to solve
a big problem with the QT version of the YAST software installer...
it's complexity.... see the comments here:

Improving that issue would be nice, but then the improvements
(whatever they may be) need to be made in parallel with the QT
version, not forked off into some other direction.
