disable xgl if you can use native nvidia.

forget about that.
you don't need xgl.

install xorg72 from
http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/opensuse/repositories/xorg72/openSUSE_10.2/

install latest beryl from
http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/opensuse/repositories/X11:/XGL/openSUSE_10.2/

and then do it this way:

when you removed xgl none of these questions are relevant any more.
with native nvidia everything works.
